Palliative Care
Palliative care aims to alleviate pain and
discomfort to improve the quality of life of and patient with an
end stage illness.
We form a part of the multidisciplinary team helping to support patients and families living with a life threatening or severe advanced stage illness expected to progress towards dying and where care is primarily focussed on alleviating suffering and improving quality of life.
We will work closely with your Doctor, community nurse or hospice nurse to ensure that all pharmaceutical needs are met.
We stock a wide range of less commonly used medicines that you may require to control your symptoms and to support your homecare team, and are able to provide them 24 hours per day if required.
We stock all drugs used as part of the Liverpool Care Pathway.
We can also supply a wide range of specialised feeding products for patients that are unable to swallow normal food.
If you have an urgent need for medicines please contact the emergency doctor service (MEDS on 650355) and they will be able to contact us for you.
