Needle Exchange Scheme

We offer a needle exchange service for drug users to help promote safer injecting practice and also to encourage the safe disposal of used needles and syringes.

The Standard Needle exchange is currently free of charge, promoting Safer Injecting.

We are able to supply the products that you may need including:

1ml Insulin syringes with needles

1ml & 2ml Syringes

Hypodermic Needles (orange, Blue and green)

Citric acid sachets

Stericups with filters

Sharps bins for safe disposal of paraphernalia

Antiseptic wipes  (small charge)

Water suitable for injection. (small charge)

We request that you please return all used sharps to the pharmacy for destruction and that they are placed into a sharps bin before being handed to the Pharmacy staff.

We have a confidential area where your needle exchange takes place, out of site of the general public, and our staff respect your confidentiality. The needle exchange area is not monitored by our CCTV recording equipment.

We will not accept any Loose Sharps under any circumstances; however we will supply you with a sharps bin and ask you to put the sharps into it and to close it.
